This Buddha statue is made in the city of Patan in Nepal which is known for the quality of the work of its craftsmen.
It is made of brass then covered with a partition of stones (turquoise, coral and lapiz-lazuli) which  are glued by hand to give a beautiful appearance to the statues.
 
Abhaya mudra is a gesture that induces comfort and salvation as it shows the open hand, which dispels fear and grants divine protection and bliss to the devotee.
